MBFWCT – Part two

The Ruff Tung Show:

The show started with an image paying tribute to the late designer, Jean-Paul Botha who passed away in 2013 after battling with health issues. The collection we saw was produced by the successive designers Ludwig Bausch and Bridget Pickering.

Picture the scene – The room is dark, only a blue light glow throughout. The music starts and it’s upbeat enough to get you excited for the show to start. The designs were chic and perfectly suited for the summer season ahead. The progression in colour was great – way the garments progressed from white, to black and white, to black and white and blue, then shifting to white and blue. The Aztec style print that was featured also develops throughout the collection and you see it in different forms; colour blocking and stripes also feature through the collection. Toward the end if the collection, a complete change takes place and features floral numbers.

The way the items were presented was perfect in showcasing the outfits –the sleek back hair with the mesh eye mask, the orchids give a great feminine touch and the use of black and nude strappy sandals ensures that one is not from the garments themselves.
