Finally I get to share the footage of the amazing trip I took with my love, Rueben. It was such a treat to get to celebrate with Philly on her wedding day. I’ve known her since first year, we studied Fashion Design together and she’s been an absolute delight since the beginning. A great perk of her having her wedding in Mauritius meant we got to arrive a couple days earlier and explore! This is the first big holiday Rueben and I have been on alone together and it was such a blast spending nights laughing and discussing the days events, I don’t mean to brag but I have the most wonderful boyfriend on the planet.
On the day we arrived, we had an incredible dinner at a place called La Rougaille Creole Restaurant and that definitely set the tone of the trip. We ate as much creole/Mauritian and Indian cuisine as we could manage and we made a point to site see everyday.
The SSR Botanical Gardens and the L’Aventure du Sucre were the first places we ventured off to, the weather wasn’t all that ideal for the beach and so this was the perfect plan. That night, we went to Le Tandoori Restaurant for some divine Tandoori chicken. I have never seen such beautiful flowers and trees like I did at the botanical garden, and from all over the world too. We learnt about Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam and got to learn a lot about the history of Mauritius at the gardens as well as at the L’Aventure du Sucre Sugar Cane Museum and Factory.
The following day we went exploring the island – because we were on the north side of Mauritius, we decided to travel east toward Flaq and spend some time at the beach in Belle Mare and thereafter spend even more time poolside. A girl needs to take a day off too 😉 we even made friends with a beautiful little bird who enjoyed eating little bits of apple.
Also I have a real treat! I filmed a whole lot more than I expected too and so I made a little video. This is only part I, because it would be crazy fitting a whole wonderful experience in one video! Let me know what you think so far! Part II will be out on Thursday and then we’ll go back to your regular scheduled programming 😉 Comment down below and tell me all about the best trip you’ve taken or where you’d love to travel to!
Thanks, VB xx
