2018 Trends I’m keen to try

Hello!

It’s a new year which means it’s time to try new things! I’m so ready to be more creative with my style and that includes trying new trends. These are trends that were seen on the runways for 2018 and while some of the trends were a bit too much for me, these ones are great. Here are a few 2018 Trends I’m keen to try this year, not only for summer but all year.

2018 Trends I’m keen to try:

Head to toe pastel colours

I’ve always loved pastels and so I’m definitely keen to try a head-to-toe look! I think that it could either look really chic or very much pre-school but I’ll have to see. Even varying shades of the same pastel colour will be awesome. This will be most suited for work and everyday but I’m not so sure about evening wear.

Vibrant bright colours

From one extreme to the next, this one takes me back to my teen years. I used to love mixing a variety of bold colours together and I’m keen to try it again. Especially in different fabrics, I think that bold colours will be great for winter instead of the darker, more neutral tones.

Trims

Tassels, pom-poms, you name it! I often get bored with my wardrobe because while I do have a lot of colour, I’m limited on texture and trims. This year, I plan to change that by adding tons of embellishments and trims to my looks. Definitely in terms of dresses and even accessories.

Slip Dresses

I love this trend! I really want to get my hands on a few slip dresses, I even plan to make myself one or two. This isn’t a new trend for 2018, as it was seen quite a bit in 2017 but I didn’t get myself any last year. That’s going to change for sure, because whats great about slip dresses is that you can dress them up or down.

Mixed Prints

Once again, a reminder of my teen years. I was very sloppy with it back then but this year I plan to really give this trend a go, now in summer and definitely in spring 2018. Also, I don’t want just floral prints, I want stripes and polka dots and abstract prints too!

Plaid

Last but certainly not least, plaid is so 90s which I freaking love! I own one plaid skirt which is a little bit too much like a school skirt but I’m keen to try this trend in as many different ways as possible. Especially for the office, I think this trend will look very sleek when done right.

These are just a few of 2018 Trends I’m keen to try! I think it’s great to push your style limits and try something new. Because you honestly are only going to be this age once so why not be adventurous? I’ll definitely post pics when I do try these trends out.

  • I was the same with vibrant colours in my teens, more so than now. Definitely going to mix it up more, but I like experimenting when it comes to fashion than just follow. Like that red dress too : )

  • I would definitely recommend pastels, one of my favourite colour combinations is baby blue and baby pink. Makes me think of retro ice creams but it is a great look and I do love bold vibrant colours as well! I hope that you get to try out the trends that you are keen to try this year.

  • Although they all look interesting, I’ve never been a very fashionable person haha. I like to dress comfortably, sometimes it looks nice and sometimes it doesn’t, haha. But you really keep drawing me into this with your amazing posts and perfect pics!

  • Maybe it’s because I’m older (almost 60!), but I’m not a fan of pastels for myself. I prefer deeper, vibrant colors, such as teal, purple, sapphire, and burgundy.

    • Not that I think age should ever be a factor but I think deeper vibrant colours are gorgeous 🙂 I also feel like if you feel good in it then thats what matters! 🙂 xx
