So in an industry that is constantly expanding and where everyone is almost willing to step on one another to get noticed, I feel it is nice for a change to have some camaraderie and take time to acknowledge talent. John-Wayne Keyser is a designer who I grew up with in Secunda, who went on to study fashion at the North West School of Design. Today we take a look at the breathtaking collection that he produced last year. Having spoken to John-Wayne, he gave me a brief understanding of where the inspiration stemmed from…
My inspiration for this collection was to create a line of garments that evoke a sense of untainted purity in the wearer as well as any person who sees the garments. when designing this collection i was Listening to the Casting Crowns Album and a line in one of the songs really spoke to me “She wears white head to toe and only he can make it so. . .” Drawing from my Journey with Jesus and how his Blood washes us clean and pure as snow I designed this collection. Minimalism Simple silhouettes combined with clean lines and crisp white fabrics enabled me to create this sense of angelic purity.
Purity and innocence can be found all around us, even in the darkest of things.
I think that’s enough to inspire anyone! Below we see the stunning garments that John-Wayne created.
The whole collection is gorgeous and I would love to wear every last item! The sleek design with a slight sassy sex appeal gives this look everything it needs to stand out from the crowd.
JWK designs is going to take the fashion world by storm and as a fellow designer myself I am proud to say that I know the designer and hope that perhaps we can collaborate in future! This is definitely someone worth looking out for!
