So a couple of months ago something really great happened – I produced a clothing line for a boutique retail store in Seapoint, Cape Town called The Showroom. The collection was produced entirely out of linen and was produced in black, white and two shades of brown. I was so blown away by this experience, and while the collection was not large it was monumental for me. The designs were classic and timeless and were suited for the modern woman who enjoys a elegant and yet casual chic style of dress.
The Egypstea collection was inspired by Egyptian modes of dress with contemporary elements, as well as the use of linen. It was also inspired by its store location Seapoint and its female residents. Hence the birth of the name, Egyptsea.
I don’t feel there’s any need to blab on too long but this post is dedicated to the photo shoot that myself and Nadine van Driel took for the collection. We shot this shoot on a glorious morning on Bloubergstrand, the wind was certainly not on our side but it made for some beautiful images. In the images we were only able to shoot photos of the darker items in the collection as the white items of clothing were being sold at the time. Our model, the gorgeous Daisy May looked effortlessly chic and with the assistance of make-up artist Daisy Kane, we were sorted. Below is a few of the images that were shot of the collection. The collection has since been sold and is unfortunately no longer available in store but I am certainly in the near future going to be producing a new collection and have the items available right here on Veebeecouture. So be sure to keep a look out!
This was a wonderful experience and I was filled with so much pride to see my clothing presented so perfectly. I hope you like what you see.
I loved every aspect of doing this collection and this shoot from start to finish and I really hope you like it!
Let me know what you think in the comments!
Thanks, VB xx
