Simple hairstyles for short hair

So for pretty much my entire life I’ve had long hair, like ridiculously long hair. The kind that people take notice of, don’t think Rapunzel vibes but you get the picture. That was the case up until March this year where I chopped it all off. It was quite an exhilarating change and it’s been such a treat being able to wear it loose and have it slick back and generally get to try hairstyles that I’ve wanted to try. My hair is naturally straight and so when I had it curled recently for a shoot I thought it would be a great time to try out and showcase a variety of different hairstyles that are so easy to recreate. I will say that this is only a handful of looks that I usually do and I would be keen to do a post like this again but with straight hair to show other styles that I like doing so if you’re keen on that too then please be sure to leave me a comment so I know. ♥

Here are the looks I created.

Look 1:

The first look is very simple – because I had nice curls in the front, I simply left a thick section of my hair loose and tied the rest of the hair in a low ponytail. This I felt was a very sassy and glam look that would definitely work for a night out. I also pinned back a section of the curls just to ensure that it’s not in my face the whole time.

Look 2:

For my second look, I left a small section of hair loose in the front and then took a section in the back and tied a ponytail with the remaining hair staying loose. The front section I then pinned back and I also wrapped a small section around the hair elastic just to neaten the look. I find that this a cute and girly style that is ideal for most day looks.

Look 3:

This look is super playful and quirky and so much fun! It’s as simple as it looks, all you need to do is part your hair down the centre and individually tie the two sections to create two ponytails. I didn’t wrap hair around my ponytails but I do think it would look really neat if you did, or even if you had two scrunchies that would really be adorable. Also please don’t judge my parting skills, I really did this in a rush and am usually a bit better than this.

Look 4:

When you’re in a real rush and you just don’t have a clue what to do with your hair this is the hairstyle for you! All it takes is that  you take the top section of your hair and tie it into a top bun. I love this look on days when my hair is in need of a wash and I don’t want to just tie it all up.

Look 5:

For my final look, I so easily just wrapped the hair on either sides and pinned it back. This is so ideal for when you’re in a rush and you want to fuss too much with your hair. I love doing this when my hair is straight too, it’s just so effortlessly and chic.

And there you have it! Four simple and easy hairstyles that you can recreate in no time at all. If you want to watch me create these looks then be sure to click on the video below! ♥☺ Also be sure to subscribe while you’re there and leave me a comment, I’d really appreciate it!

Please let me know below what you think of these looks? Would you recreate them or do you have any suggestions for looks that I didn’t consider? Also if you’d like to see me do this again but with straight hair and different looks then please be sure to let me know!

Thanks, VB xx
