Tips to look and Feel Better

Ever have those days where you’re just kinda like “meh”. You don’t like how you look or feel and you just want a pick me up? Well boo, I’ve got just what you need! Some days we just need a few little pick-me-up tips to get us feeling fresh and fab again – here are a few simple tricks to look and feel better in no time at all!

Red Lipstick

Adding a vibrant pop of red will instantly bring a touch of radiance to your face. I’m not saying it needs to be fire engine red, but any shade of red will do. It’ll immediately boost your confidence and light up your smile even more than you thought. I personally love a very dark red but in Summer it’s great to be bold and add a striking red to my lips with minimal eyeshadow. It’s like the least amount of (makeup) effort with such a gorgeous reward.

Massage your neck

We don’t always have the time to go for a full-body massage but it is possible to treat yourself. When you’re feeling a little tense or tired or just not up for life, all you need is this quick fix. Simply, grab a little bit of hand cream and massage the nape of your neck. This is honestly so soothing! I do it every morning and every evening when I moisturise and it boosts my mood instantly. Want an even simpler alternative? Just stretch your neck out, ear to shoulder and forwards and back. Boom! Relaxed and feeling great!

Tea please

Yes I know that there are some hardcore coffee lovers out there but I am dedicated to my love of tea. Having a cup of tea, (preferably decaffeinated to avoid your skin dehydrating) can instantly put you at ease, it’ll give you that 5 minute breather where you can just unwind. My personal faves are earl grey, lemon tea, rooibos and any green tea blend.

Light my fire

Younger me never saw the value of lighting candles but now, omg it’s an obsession! Do yourself a favour and light a paraffin-free candle when getting ready for the day, you’ll begin to feel so energised and ready for the day ahead. When I’m feeling down or just like something is missing, I light up a honey candle that immediately fills the room with such a lovely sweet scent. It’s an effortless, fuss-free way to freshen up the smell in the room as well as your mood.

Cut out Candy

Craving something sweet? DO NOT GRAB THE CHOCOLATE BAR! DO NOT GRAB THE CANDY! Believe me, I know how tough this can be but it’s going to only make things worse. That sugar fix is going to so short lived and not give you the satisfaction you were hoping for. Instead pre-make chia pudding and grab a bowl/cup of that in the place of candy. It’s so effortless to make, I simply combine chia seeds, almond milk and honey and I either freeze it over night or give it a few min in the fridge for the seeds to absorb the milk. It’s sweet, healthy and way more filling than that sugary snack will ever be.

The easiest and quickest way to look and feel better? Flash those pearly white! Simply by smiling more you will feel happier and it’ll brighten up your face. It might sound so lame you might want to resort back to your trusty RBF but I promise you that it’ll be all the boost you need.

I hope these tips come in handy the next time you feel grumpy or like you need a mega-sized coffee to get through the day. I know that I use most of these tips daily and they make all the difference.

Do you have any tips for me? I’d love it if we could share some tips and boost each others moods 🙂

Thanks, VB xx
