I feel like it’s been forever but I’m finally back! Thank you for being patient with me during my absense aka while I got MARRIED!!!It’s crazy to thing that my last post was a pre-wedding update (read here) and now here we are! It’s so exciting and I’m so happy! Everything was beautiful and out of this world – as soon as I receive all our photos I’ll be sure to do a post talking all about it. For now, I’d like to tell you a bit about our honeymoon in Costa Rica…
Wow, I feel so lost for words. As far as honeymoon’s go, I’m pretty sure I had one of the best. Okay, that might be an exxageration but to me, it was absolutely wonderful in every way. Costa Rica is a small area in Central America which I think is often over looked but really shouldn’t be. It’s so green and vibrant – I honestly thought we would see a dinosaur climbing up a mountain at once stage because it just gave me such Jurassic park feels.
Being on honeymoon can mean different things for different people. This is especially true when you factor in where people choose to go and how they plan to spend their time. For us, we did as little as possible and we loved it. I’m generally always busy with something or the other and so, to do nothing felt fantastic. Difficult at times (being so used to always having something to do) but so worth it. Our honeymoon was like a recovery session for me. I feel like Rueben absolutely loved not having set plans too but for me it was just what I need.
With that being said, we did venture out of our bungalow. We had such amazing breakfasts followed by beach walks or city explorations. Most days were spent swimming and drinking cocktails but as I say, we did venture out too. We were based in Tamarindo, Costa Rica and spent a day in an area nearby where we had a full adventure day. We rode horses, went tube riding for 5km on tubes, we ziplined and then ended the day in hot pools. It was bliss.
Because Tamarindo is a casual 4 hours from the airport, we spent our last two days in an area called Alauelja in a spa called Asclepios. Rueben had his first (and certainly not last) full body massage and we went to the zoo (rehab cenrer). And that was the extent of our “activities” – unless you count walking. We walked everywhere because it was all within walking distance so that was definitely part of the honeymoon experience.
I will say, there’s nothing quite like sipping rum out of a coconut at 8am whilst on honeymoon. It should be considered a rite of passage in my opinion.
All in all, our honeymoon was marvellous. I feel like I’ve struggled to really express what we got up to, but fret not, because here’s a video showing you everything.

I hope that your found our honeymoon entertaining to enjoy vicariously. I’m so ready to get back to blogging! This year is going to be really exciting and I can’t wait to get the ball rolling!
Thanks, VB xx
